Enjoy this newly renovated (2022) cottage with an addition that provides a fabulous relaxing view of Miskwabi lake. The beach and waterfront are shared with only 20 other cottages on a small dead end street (not open to the public). Both the upper and lower portions of the cottage have large window views of the lake and each walk out to the large deck or lower patio. There is also a great south view of a small valley of wooded area right on the property. This is a common area for early morning deer or wild turkey to wander through along side a small creek. This is a fabulous place to relax and enjoy with your family and friends. The town of Haliburton has many great adventures and shopping for further entertainment.

As you walk in the front door to the right is the new kitchen with quartz countertops with all amenities to prepare a great meal while not tucked away so can enjoy company and lake view. The dining and living room area is immediately to the left and beside the kitchen with the lake view. The 2 quaint bedrooms and upper bathroom is further along past the dining area. The stairs to the walk out lower level is conveniently located front right of the cottage. As you enter the lower level you will also have a very large view of water and fire pit. The inviting gorges old cedar strip canoe as a overhead chandelier casts light onto the rec room area and gas fireplace. Two larger themed bedrooms are adjoined to this room, one with the same great view of the lake. There is also a large bathroom with tub, shower and 2 sinks, vanity as well as heated floor. When you wake up on either level you can help yourself to a hot coffee at the coffee bar adjacent to the rec room.

The cottage is all new (2022) including deck, siding, roof, windows, flooring, etc. The 160 plus feet of shore line is shared with 20 other cottages only and many times no one is there at all. The shore has 2 large docks and plenty of area to put a chair right on sandy, stoney, grassy shore with shallow walking friendly entrance. There is a small creek that runs through the property to the lake. The bay warms up quicker than the big lake which makes for great swimming.

The shared dock is large enough to hold an 18’ – 22” bowrider/pleasure/ski type boat

This lake chain is good for motorboats, water skiing, paddle boarding, kayaking and canoeing

House Rules & Cancellations

REQUIREMENT: Before accepting or sending an offer, we will request necessary personal & group information. With this information, a Cottage Rental Agreement (CRA) will be issued (containing property & booking details) that will need to be signed by all guests (age 18+) staying at the cottage. Please read below for a “sample" Cottage Rental Agreement + Liability Waiver.

Cottage Cleaning
Unless extra cleaning service is purchased and specified in your contract, the cottage must be left in the same condition as you found it, ready for the next visitors (specific details will be in the final Cottage Rental Agreement).

All garbage and recycling disposal is the responsibility of the rental client. Garbage is to be placed in garbage bags/recycling boxes and stored safely so that animals cannot get into it. Information and location of the garbage dump specific to the cottage will be provided in the final Cottage Rental Agreement.

Water/Plumbing/Septic System
There are strict rules with regards to septic systems. Failure to follow these rules may result in thousands of dollars in repairs.
1. Only bodily waste materials and toilet paper can be flushed down the toilet. NO FEMININE/BABY PRODUCTS: TAMPONS, PADS, DIAPERS, WIPES.
2. Do not put any solid waste materials or grease down the sink drains.

As most cottages draw water from the lake and only some have water purification systems, you may wish to bring your own drinking water.

Camp/Cooking Fires
Small campfires are permitted as directed by the Ministry of Natural Resources. Please identify and adhere to local fire bans when imposed by local authorities (especially during dry/fire season). Do not burn plastic, tin cans, glass, or any other items that should not be in the fire. Always drown out your fire with plenty of water when left unattended, in particular before going to bed. For the use of firewood, there may be a charge from the owner, approx. $25.00 per cart/wheelbarrow.

No Extra Guests/Parties
If you plan on having any additional guests, you must request permission from the owner.

No Smoking
All of our cottages are Non Smoking of any kind in the interior (specific details will be in the final Cottage Rental Agreement).

If your pet has been approved by the cottage owner, you are solely responsible for its actions and whereabouts (specific details will be in the final Cottage Rental Agreement).

Damage Deposit
If there is any damage to the cottage the claim will be handled between the client and Airbnb.
If there are any noise complaints from the neighbours &/or if the Police are called to the cottage for any negative reason, the owner will have the right to hold back some or all of your damage deposit. Some of this money held back may or may not go to appease the neighbours who have been inconvenienced.

Cancellation Policy:
Any cancellation by the rental client must be in writing and emailed to Kawartha Cottage Vacations admin@kawarthacottagevacations.ca On receipt of such notice, we shall endeavour to re-rent the property for the period of the original booking. Any cancellation must be at any time but no less than 90 days prior to the original date of check in.
If we are successful in re-renting, the cancelling client will be reimbursed all original funds minus any shortfalls (the rental difference from the advertised rental rates and what the re-renting client has paid) & a $150.00 KCV Administration Fee.
If we are unsuccessful in re-renting the cottage, all original funds (minus the $150.00 KCV Administration Fee) can be put forward to another cottage rental, at this same cottage, within 1 year (no later than 1 year of your original rental date), during the same season of the next year, of the original rental date (based on availability and at the advertised rates in existence at the time of rebooking).
All “extra persons fees” are non-refundable
If the cancellation notice is less than 90 days prior to the check-in date, and we are unsuccessful in re-renting the cottage for the same dates, all funds will be forfeited. If, however, we are successful in re-renting the cottage for the same dates, the cancelling client will be reimbursed 50% of the original funds paid minus any shortfalls (the rental difference from the advertised rental rates and what the re-renting client has paid) & a $150.00 KCV Administration Fee.
If the outstanding balance of the rental fee as per the CRA is not received at least 28 days prior to the commencement of your rental period and you have not notified us to admin@kawarthacottagevacations.ca, the owner will have the right to cancel your reservation and your deposit is forfeited.

Amendment Policy:
Any amendment or revision to the CRA (Cottage Rental Agreement) requested by the rental client will be subject to a non-refundable fee of $30.00 for each amendment.
