Tranquility on Chandos is a renovated & upgraded 2600 sq ft cottage. The cottage has a northern exposure, with 170’ shoreline tucked in a quiet bay/cove that provides privacy and stunning views of the lake from both the inside & outside on the wrap around deck or from the large dock enjoying the beauty of the water with plenty of Muskoka chairs to lounge on. All cottage windows were replaced fall 2019 and the big bay window that looks out on to the lake provides a view that one will always remember. The incredible views of the surrounding pines and balsams provides an atmosphere that will leave you in a state of, yes, TRANQUILITY. Or just enjoy your coffee or beverage on the deck & let the loons call you down to the water.
The cottage comes equipped with a spacious kitchen adjacent to a large family and dining area that can seat up to ten or you might choose to relax in the living room on the long large leather sectional with a cathedral ceiling overhead & bay windows that allow for stunning views of nature including the beautiful Chandos Lake.
When outdoors one can languish on the wrap around deck with beautifully appointed couches and chairs. Water activities include great swimming, fishing, boating and kayaking. If you prefer venturing further on land, there is an excellent cottage road for walking and biking. This beautiful property is the place for making your cottage memories on one of Kawartha’s largest and finest lakes.
This cottage also has a GENERAC Back-Up Generator that can power the entire cottage, which means you will never be without power.

House Rules & Cancellations
REQUIREMENT: Before accepting or sending an offer, we will request necessary personal & group information. With this information, a Cottage Rental Agreement (CRA) will be issued (containing property & booking details) that will need to be signed by all guests (age 18+) staying at the cottage. Please read below for a “sample" Cottage Rental Agreement + Liability Waiver.

Cottage Cleaning
Unless extra cleaning service is purchased and specified in your contract, the cottage must be left in the same condition as you found it, ready for the next visitors (specific details will be in the final Cottage Rental Agreement).
Garbage
All garbage and recycling disposal is the responsibility of the rental client. Garbage is to be placed in garbage bags/recycling boxes and stored safely so that animals cannot get into it. Information and location of the garbage dump specific to the cottage will be provided in the final Cottage Rental Agreement.
Water/Plumbing/Septic System
There are strict rules with regards to septic systems. Failure to follow these rules may result in thousands of dollars in repairs.
1. Only bodily waste materials and toilet paper can be flushed down the toilet. NO FEMININE/BABY PRODUCTS: TAMPONS, PADS, DIAPERS, WIPES.
2. Do not put any solid waste materials or grease down the sink drains.
As most cottages draw water from the lake and only some have water purification systems, you may wish to bring your own drinking water.
Camp/Cooking Fires
Small campfires are permitted as directed by the Ministry of Natural Resources. Please identify and adhere to local fire bans when imposed by local authorities (especially during dry/fire season). Do not burn plastic, tin cans, glass, or any other items that should not be in the fire. Always drown out your fire with plenty of water when left unattended, in particular before going to bed. For the use of firewood, there may be a charge from the owner, approx. $25.00 per cart/wheelbarrow.
No Extra Guests/Parties
If you plan on having any additional guests, you must request permission from the owner.
No Smoking
All of our cottages are Non Smoking of any kind in the interior (specific details will be in the final Cottage Rental Agreement).
Pets
If your pet has been approved by the cottage owner, you are solely responsible for its actions and whereabouts (specific details will be in the final Cottage Rental Agreement).
Damage Deposit
If there is any damage to the cottage the claim will be handled between the client and Airbnb.
If there are any noise complaints from the neighbours &/or if the Police are called to the cottage for any negative reason, the owner will have the right to hold back some or all of your damage deposit. Some of this money held back may or may not go to appease the neighbours who have been inconvenienced.
Cancellation Policy:
Any cancellation by the rental client must be in writing and emailed to Kawartha Cottage Vacations admin@kawarthacottagevacations.ca On receipt of such notice, we shall endeavour to re-rent the property for the period of the original booking. Any cancellation must be at any time but no less than 90 days prior to the original date of check in.
If we are successful in re-renting, the cancelling client will be reimbursed all original funds minus any shortfalls (the rental difference from the advertised rental rates and what the re-renting client has paid) & a $150.00 KCV Administration Fee.
If we are unsuccessful in re-renting the cottage, all original funds (minus the $150.00 KCV Administration Fee) can be put forward to another cottage rental, at this same cottage, within 1 year (no later than 1 year of your original rental date), during the same season of the next year, of the original rental date (based on availability and at the advertised rates in existence at the time of rebooking).
All “extra persons fees” are non-refundable
If the cancellation notice is less than 90 days prior to the check-in date, and we are unsuccessful in re-renting the cottage for the same dates, all funds will be forfeited. If, however, we are successful in re-renting the cottage for the same dates, the cancelling client will be reimbursed 50% of the original funds paid minus any shortfalls (the rental difference from the advertised rental rates and what the re-renting client has paid) & a $150.00 KCV Administration Fee.
If the outstanding balance of the rental fee as per the CRA is not received at least 28 days prior to the commencement of your rental period and you have not notified us to admin@kawarthacottagevacations.ca, the owner will have the right to cancel your reservation and your deposit is forfeited.
Amendment Policy:
Any amendment or revision to the CRA (Cottage Rental Agreement) requested by the rental client will be subject to a non-refundable fee of $30.00 for each amendment.
