Sunset Lodge is a beautiful cottage in a quiet corner of Gilmour Bay on Chandos Lake. A short drive to the public sandy Chandos Lake beach with access to great fishing, boating, and water sports. As part of the Kawartha Lakes region, the Chandos Lake resort is nestled among a towering array of pine and oak trees on the scenic shores of Chandos Lake.
The cottage has a large living room with a wood stove, a large, screened in sun-room and a spacious deck overlooking the lake. There is also a dock with space to swim off, fish from or park your boat.

This Chandos Lake cottage is secluded enough to enjoy a quiet family getaway, yet only a short distance from many local attractions including 2 golf courses, the Gut Conservation area with numerous waterfall and hiking trails – a photographers paradise and the charming town of Apsley. Here you will find all your basic amenities along with several quaint shops including a bakery, the Wellington Street gift shop (which devotes their entire third floor to Christmas!) and the local ice cream parlour which serves up the famous Kawartha Dairy ice cream. A perfect way to cool yourself when you’re not enjoying the pristine waters of Chandos Lake.

Occupants must supply their own food, towels and toiletries, life jackets for small children.

The Gut Conservation Area
South of Glen Alda, about 11 kms. East of Apsley is a unique conservation area known as The Gut. It is a rugged gorge where the Crowe River has forced its way through thirty meters of Precambrian rock. The rugged terrain and scenic beauty make it one of the gems of eastern Ontario.

Petroglyphs Provincial Park
600 to 1100 hundred year old rock carvings are the feature attraction in this park located about 21 kms. Southeast of Apsley. The carvings were created by Algonkian-speaking aboriginal people. The shapes and figures of the over 300 carvings had deep spiritual meaning to their original carvers and are still revered by many as a sacred site.
