Situated on beautiful Clear Lake, adjacent to Stoney Lake and only 1 3/4 hours from Toronto, this beautiful 4,000 square foot home boasts a fabulous sunset view, incredible swimming with sandy bottomed, gently sloping water ideal for children or those of us who wish we still were! The lot is large and gently sloping toward the water with a large dock, perfect for watching the sunset, fishing or reading a great book. There is a beautiful designer fire pit down by the water ideal for roasting marshmallows while watching the brilliant sunset. It is a large property with a lot of room for bocce ball, badminton, croquet or just lounging. The property also has beautiful quiet gardens in the front offering a lovely oasis while the lake side boasts a large deck overlooking the lake.

Enjoy cooking meals in the large kitchen overlooking the water with a gourmet 6 burner propane stove, a second oven, plenty of counter space and a glass dining table. The living room overlooks the lake and is spectacular with vaulted ceiling, a grand piano, fireplace, original art and a modern look. There are three full bathrooms, two upstairs and one downstairs. The sunken living with a TV downstairs is ideal for playing games and for the kids to have their own space. There is a hot tub and sauna as well for your enjoyment.

Clear lake has deep clear water and is just wonderful for swimming, water sports or fishing. Stoney Lake being adjacent allows for wonderful exploring adventures. The area has many great restaurants, several are accessible by boat allowing for a great meal and sunset boat ride home. Truly a highlight of the summer!

The cottage is 7 minutes from Lakefield which hosts the Jazz Festival, Literary Festival, Annual Fair and participates in the Studio Tour. Lakefield has many unique stores, restaurants and all the necessities such as groceries and LCBO. Lakefield also has a fantastic butcher shop, gourmet vegetable store, gourmet cafe and an upscale bakery, bookstore and a marina, making it a car or boat destination.

The area is ideal for cyclists, golfers, boaters, has walking trails and many nearby attractions including the Petroglyphs Park, Warsaw Caves and a berry farm.

House Rules & Cancellations

REQUIREMENT: Before accepting or sending an offer, we will request necessary personal & group information. With this information, a Cottage Rental Agreement (CRA) will be issued (containing property & booking details) that will need to be signed by all guests (age 18+) staying at the cottage. Please read below for a “sample" Cottage Rental Agreement + Liability Waiver.

Cottage Cleaning
Unless extra cleaning service is purchased and specified in your contract, the cottage must be left in the same condition as you found it, ready for the next visitors (specific details will be in the final Cottage Rental Agreement).

All garbage and recycling disposal is the responsibility of the rental client. Garbage is to be placed in garbage bags/recycling boxes and stored safely so that animals cannot get into it. Information and location of the garbage dump specific to the cottage will be provided in the final Cottage Rental Agreement.

Water/Plumbing/Septic System
There are strict rules with regards to septic systems. Failure to follow these rules may result in thousands of dollars in repairs.
1. Only bodily waste materials and toilet paper can be flushed down the toilet. NO FEMININE/BABY PRODUCTS: TAMPONS, PADS, DIAPERS, WIPES.
2. Do not put any solid waste materials or grease down the sink drains.

As most cottages draw water from the lake and only some have water purification systems, you may wish to bring your own drinking water.

Camp/Cooking Fires
Small campfires are permitted as directed by the Ministry of Natural Resources. Please identify and adhere to local fire bans when imposed by local authorities (especially during dry/fire season). Do not burn plastic, tin cans, glass, or any other items that should not be in the fire. Always drown out your fire with plenty of water when left unattended, in particular before going to bed. For the use of firewood, there may be a charge from the owner, approx. $25.00 per cart/wheelbarrow.

No Extra Guests/Parties
If you plan on having any additional guests, you must request permission from the owner.

No Smoking
All of our cottages are Non Smoking of any kind in the interior (specific details will be in the final Cottage Rental Agreement).

If your pet has been approved by the cottage owner, you are solely responsible for its actions and whereabouts (specific details will be in the final Cottage Rental Agreement).

Damage Deposit
If there is any damage to the cottage the claim will be handled between the client and Airbnb.
If there are any noise complaints from the neighbours &/or if the Police are called to the cottage for any negative reason, the owner will have the right to hold back some or all of your damage deposit. Some of this money held back may or may not go to appease the neighbours who have been inconvenienced.

Cancellation Policy:
Any cancellation by the rental client must be in writing and emailed to Kawartha Cottage Vacations On receipt of such notice, we shall endeavour to re-rent the property for the period of the original booking. Any cancellation must be at any time but no less than 90 days prior to the original date of check in.
If we are successful in re-renting, the cancelling client will be reimbursed all original funds minus any shortfalls (the rental difference from the advertised rental rates and what the re-renting client has paid) & a $150.00 KCV Administration Fee.
If we are unsuccessful in re-renting the cottage, all original funds (minus the $150.00 KCV Administration Fee) can be put forward to another cottage rental, at this same cottage, within 1 year (no later than 1 year of your original rental date), during the same season of the next year, of the original rental date (based on availability and at the advertised rates in existence at the time of rebooking).
All “extra persons fees” are non-refundable
If the cancellation notice is less than 90 days prior to the check-in date, and we are unsuccessful in re-renting the cottage for the same dates, all funds will be forfeited. If, however, we are successful in re-renting the cottage for the same dates, the cancelling client will be reimbursed 50% of the original funds paid minus any shortfalls (the rental difference from the advertised rental rates and what the re-renting client has paid) & a $150.00 KCV Administration Fee.
If the outstanding balance of the rental fee as per the CRA is not received at least 28 days prior to the commencement of your rental period and you have not notified us to, the owner will have the right to cancel your reservation and your deposit is forfeited.

Amendment Policy:
Any amendment or revision to the CRA (Cottage Rental Agreement) requested by the rental client will be subject to a non-refundable fee of $30.00 for each amendment.
