Fresh northern air, sparkling clear water, long lake views, ample waterfront dock and spacious, comfy cottage. This partially-wooded cottage property sits on the shores of the largest lake in the Haliburton Highlands, Kawagama Lake. This lake is well-known for its pristine, clear water. The spacious, 5-bedroom 2400 square foot cottage and property with many long lake views provides it all: the environment, space and comfort to create a relaxing, connecting and memorable holiday. The large south-facing beach area at the main docks has a hard-packed sandy bottom and a gradual entry. Great child-friendly swimming and leisurely adult wading! The cottage property is predominantly level with several look-outs, charming, wooded pathways and various sitting and hammock areas with beautiful, long lake views.

This is a very private and restorative environment; it encompasses almost 2 acres at the end of an island with an extraordinary 825 of waterfront, allowing 270 degree lake views. The cottage is two minutes by boat from private docks and a private parking area. The short boat ride to the cottage from the small protected bay gives rise to feelings of truly beginning a northern get-away holiday. PLEASE NOTE: at least one adult member of your family must have a boater's license, as the pontoon boat is included in the cottage rental and is available for your enjoyment.

The well-equipped kitchen, with stove, fridge, dishwasher and microwave has all the other high-quality smaller appliances that you enjoy at home such as: a four-slice toaster, coffee maker, crock pot and electric griddle. (Water source is lake with 3 stage UV filtered, potable.) The kitchen opens up to a generous living area with a large antique dining table, which comfortably seats everyone. Added to this are leather sofas, a fireplace to keep warm on summer evenings and extensive windows with wonderful views down the lake.

An important element to enjoyment of a holiday is good, restorative sleep. Each of the five bedrooms has newer, high-end, luxury mattresses (most from the Marshall Mattress Co.) so that climbing into bed is a pleasure. The cottage sleeps 10 comfortably. Each of the 3 larger bedrooms has a queen bed. One of the smaller bedrooms has bunk beds and there is one double bed in the 5th bedroom. There are 2 full bathrooms. One is a double ensuite bathroom off the master bedroom and the other is a 3-piece bathroom (with shower).

French doors open from a sitting area to a large, comfortable Games Room with pine ceilings and more long lake views! A welcoming spot for family games and gatherings. It is set up for table tennis, has a games table, a piano and newly upholstered sofas in a sitting area that welcomes conversation and relaxation.

With 825 feet of lakefront, towering white pines and a multitude of lake views, you'll enjoy walks on trails to many of your favourite spots on the property. For children this place is heaven. There's lots of room to run, various spots to explore, a bunkie to play in (and perhaps have an overnight using its two single beds) a tree house overlooking the lake and the beautiful, extensive sandy beach/shoreline area.

The water quality and clarity of the lake is exceptional with its water source coming from the Algonquin Park area. The swimming is great at the south-facing beach area beside the main docks with shallow, sparkling-clear water, a shore with hard-packed sand underfoot, so you can wade out gradually with great comfort. Or dive off the end of the dock straight into deep water. This beach area is a great spot to launch the adult kayaks or canoe for a simple, quiet morning paddle or to explore parts of the lake.

The dock shed holds all the waterfront equipment such as life jackets, kids' kayaks, noodles, the fishing rods and a bar fridge for cold drinks. So, items for waterfront comfort and fun are right at hand. The hammocks at three different spots with great lake views and lake breezes will be favourite destinations for a nap or sinking into a good book. This traditional Muskoka-style wood-siding cottage has three exterior decks and faces down the length of Kawagama Lake.
