We say DARE TO COMPARE rates for cottages in the Muskokas on one of the "Big Three" lakes with similar amenities, location, and qualities. We are now open with the removal of the short-term rental ban by the Ontario government. The Birch is totally COVID19 compliant. This former home, now our 4-season cottage, is located in the beautiful Ontario Muskoka Lakes Region, on the same Lake Rosseau shoreline as Minett, ON where you will find the 1869 Cleveland House, The Rock Golf Course and the Marriot Resort is just down the road. From mid-June to the end of the Labour Day weekend, we only take weekly rentals, Saturday to Saturday. In other times, we accept weekend or 2-3 night rentals. We can accommodate a maximum of 8 persons which includes daytime guests at any one time - but no more than 8. Those 2 and under are not part of the count. It is located just north of Port Carling along the road leading to the village of Minett along Peninsula Road 7. The Birch is just 2.5 hours north of Toronto. It is a year-round rental property on the mainland. Boat launches are nearby with entertainment, artisans, crafts, antiques, and golfing galore. Gravenhurst's Opera House and the Port Carling Dinner Theatre are popular. It is in the heart of autumn's colour cavalcade and the Cranberry Festival in Bala. Take in the dinner cruise offered by the Muskoka ships like the Segwun that sail daily. Our website is the best place to get a clear and detailed description. The 9.5 acres shared property make this unique and safe, with a gentle, grassy slope to the child-friendly beach. You will be surprised as to the privacy you have with the 10 owners, two who live there full-time; however, space is non-intrusive and they are all very Muskoka friendly. Near the Birch, a perennial flower and shrub garden greets your view as you face the beachfront. The Birch's surrounding deck is very private and the distance and slope to the beach at the water are child and senior-friendly. Note: Be aware of fire restrictions and bear citings announced by the local authorities. Insects and animals such as racoons consider all cottage country "home" and we are visitors; hence, wise storage of food and such are advised. We ask that you treat our "little bit of heaven" as you would your own and respect the shared use of the common property amenities such as the 9+ acres, the new docks (2020), the beachfront, the lakeside Muskoka chairs, the tennis court, the beach fire pit, the horseshoe pit, and the gazebo. We ask that you clean up all that you use and place it back from which it came, including your personal items. Please refrain bringing in sand via shoes, towels, and swimwear into the Birch and into the laundry tub. Please do not sit on the furniture in wet clothing. We ask that you help prevent the spread of Covid19 and after your stay and general cleanup, please sanitize all the contact points that you consider having touched. Our cleaners are vulnerable right after you leave. Thanks.
