DARE to COMPARE! The Birch rates will save you vacation spending money compared to many other similar cottages/homes located nearby that go for $2,000-5,000/wk more. We only rent weekly or monthly in the summer with some exceptions, usually in late August. Please visit our web site for more details about our rates, Renter Guidelines, and Renter Agreement.
This former home, now our 4-season cottage, is located in the beautiful Ontario Muskoka Lakes Region, on the same Lake Rosseau shoreline of Minett, ON where you will find the 1869 Cleveland House, The Rock Golf Course and the Marriot Resort where non-guests can use the restaurants. We can accommodate a maximum of 8 persons which include daytime guests at any one time - but no more than 8; those 2 and under are not part of the count. It is located just north of Port Carling along the road leading to the village of Minett along Peninsula Road 7. This is just 2.5 hours north of Toronto. It is a year-round rental property with car access directly to the door. Boat launches are nearby with entertainment, artisans, crafts, antiques and golfing galore. Gravenhurst's Opera House is nearby as is the Port Carling Dinner Theatre. It is in the heart of autumn's colour cavalcade and the Cranberry festivals of Bala. A main feature is the dinner cruise offered by the Muskoka ships like the Segwun that sail daily. We have brand new Furnace and AC; water treatment (we drink from the tap), new BBQ hooked up to the main Propane tank that services the home, new patio tables and umbrellas, and 2 flat screen TV's. We tether to your phone data plan for Internet access. With sufficient advanced notice, we can provide bed linen and pillow covers with towels for the added $100 cleaning fee to the existing base cleaning fee of $200.

This 2300+ sf total space that will sleep the maximum capacity of 8 persons is spacious. 2 bedrooms up; 2 down. The front entrance branches off to one-bedroom, the 4 pc bathroom, and the eat-in kitchen with breakfast bar. There is an eating area with access to the reading room/den. to the front of the Birch is the open concept living/dining room. The Satellite flat-screen TV is located there with a walkout to the massive 50% surrounding deck. The MBR leads off the living room and has a 3pc ensuite bathroom with a soaker tub as well as a walk-in closet with laundry. Downstairs you will enjoy the 2 bedrooms and the massive recreation and games room with a flat-screen TV for DVD moves or from your PC or tablet. We have no Internet and to some, that is good news to "break away" from the Internet for a while and enjoy what the Muskoka Region has to offer. We personally tether via our phone data plan. The Birch is a fully winterized home/cottage graced with solid pine of the original cottage and a continuation of that pine throughout the renovated interior. This including the completed lower floor which includes a large recreation room with a walkout patio door. Central AC, a water treatment system, new painting, an aluminum roof, and a new propane Furnace and BBQ have been added from 2017-2019.

Exterior

The 9.5 acres shared property make this unique and safe, with a gentle, grassy slope to the child-friendly beach. You will be surprised as to the privacy you have with the 10 owners, some who live there full-time. Near the Birch, a perennial flower and shrub garden greets your view as you face the beachfront. Other cottages/homes have full-time residents; however, space is non-intrusive and they are all very Muskoka friendly. We ask that you treat our "little bit of heaven" as you would your own and respect the shared use of the common property amenities such as the docks, beachfront, tennis court, beach fire pit, and gazebo. The surrounding deck is very private and the distance and slope to the beach at the water is child and senior-friendly. Note: Note: Be aware of fire restrictions and bear citings announced by the local authorities. Insects and animals such as racoons are present and wise storage of food and such are advised.
