Beautiful memories at Trenanthia Cottage
People have been coming to vacation in Muskoka since the 19th century. And why not when there's so much natural entertainment to choose from? Gather your family & friends to share canoeing, fishing off the dock, playing horseshoes & volleyball, building sand castles on the beach or a round of good old fashioned board games. Even when it's cold outside, make memories to keep you warm: ice-fishing, cross-country skiing, skating, snowmobiling, snow fort building or, our personal favourite, building mahossive snowpeople

Outdoor hot tub
Whether you like a quiet soak with your partner, or a boisterous splash with friends, enjoy the bubbles and lakeside views in the outdoor hot tub year round

Lakeside sauna
Bask in the warmth of the wood-fired sauna while overlooking the lake. Jump out and roll around in the water or snow for a refreshing (and healthy) gasp, erm, giggle

Games room
Shrieks of laughter spring from the vintage games room - endowed with a stand-up piano; a skeeball machine (popular 1950's arcade game a bit like the love-child of bowling & target practice); a crokinole board (1860's canadian game kinda like indoor curling); the classic dartboard; and, of course, copious board games

Log fireplaces & outdoor fire pit
Sharing ghost stories is best done in front of the fire light, isn't it? Gather around the outdoor fire pit or in front of one of the beautiful log fireplaces in each of the two living rooms. Just be sure to check under the bed before going to sleep

Lots of space (sleeps 12)
Outside is more than two acres set in a forest. Inside is spacious and open plan to maximise the sociability factor. Besides the copious bedrooms and bathrooms (five and four, respectively), there's a games room & two living rooms. Life is bigger with six couches

Family owned & loved
Yup, it really is our grandmother that talks about whiffletrees and winter warmers. We love the cottage & sure hope ya feel it shimmering through

As grandma likes to say "she who leaves a trail of glitter ain't never gonna be forgotten" so we've added a bit o' glitter to cottage country with our one-of-a-kind (& slightly bonkers) escapades :)

Free internet
Stay in touch with loved ones further afield. Share your memories as they happen on the free high speed wifi available wirelessly anywhere in the cottage and outside on the deck. Selfie anyone?

We love pets
You wouldn't leave grandpa behind, would you? (Well, you might if he insists on slurping his soup like that.) Pets are welcome for free so bring 'em along

Close to Toronto
The road trip games won't last long - just 90 minutes from Toronto. You'll be playing on the lake in no time

Open year round
Grandma's winter warmer recipe : Combine snowflakes, winter skies, family & friends. Throw in a dash of playing on the ice followed by a generous helping of roaring fires. Mix together and serve warm. Dee-licious

The 'loonie bin' bedroom (1 x queen)
(Go ahead, ask us why it's called that!) Stunning main bedroom with king-size bed, skylight, and walk-out deck. Located on the second floor, this bedroom overlooks the lake, has an ensuite bathroom, and a hang-out area.

The 'drink coffee' bedroom (2 x twins)
Bright room for singles or couple. Also upstairs, this room is laid out for the convenience of dividing the two twin beds (for individuals) or pushing the beds together to create a double (for a couple).

The 'free kitten' bedroom (4 x singles)
The third and final bedroom on the second floor has a lovely wooden panelled cathedral ceiling and two sets of adult and child friendly bunk beds.

The 'afternoon riser' bedroom (2 x twins)
This twin bedroom located on the main floor can be separated from the rest of the cottage for quiet time.

The 'cabin' bedroom (1 x queen)
Bright double bedroom also on the main floor. Both this bedroom and the downstairs twin bedroom have a hallway door that allows them to be virtually separated from the rest of the cottage.

*We provide free internet, accessible from any room, and on the outdoor wrap around deck.

At Trenanthia Cottage, you'll be on an inlet off Sparrow Lake, one of the many large lakes in the Muskoka region. Being on an inlet means you're close to the action of the main lake, but still far enough away not to be directly effected by the speedboats & jet skis of other cottagers.

Wrap-around deck, sandy beach, outdoor fire pit
The large wrap-around deck has no banister to obscure lakeside views. It has plenty of space for hanging out and hosts the built-in hot tub open year round where you can soak up the wonderful vistas. There's a large propane barbecue for those al fresco dining evenings. Steps lead down from the deck to the sandy beach for volleyball, horseshoes and sand castle fun. Share marshmallows around the outdoor fire pit while the sun sets.

Canoe, paddle-boat, row-boat & more
Your rental includes a canoe, a paddle-boat, a row-boat, volleyball, badminton, horseshoes and more. You can also bring your own boat if that floats your .... well, .... boat. There's great fishing in Sparrow Lake off the dock or in the inlet. Our inlet is very popular for winter ice-fishing too - speaking of which ...

Winter fun
The cottage is fully winterised and ready for fun any of the four seasons. Winter fun includes ice fishing & ice hockey on the inlet, snowmobiling (local rentals available), cross country skiing, and snowshoeing.
