Discovery Yukon Lodgings is nestled at the base of the foothills that descend from mountainous Kluane Park Preserve. This ecotourism destination lies half way between Whitehorse, Yukon Territories and Fairbanks, Alaska along the historic Alaska Highway. We offer a host of lodging options including cabins, full service RV and tent sites along with a variety of facilities to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Come into the Discovery Yukon lodge and say hello while you have a look at our display of local wildlife and Northern artefacts. The items have been collected over the past twenty years and include animals, fish and birds. We also have an assortment of rare prehistoric bones and skulls, together with a collection of fossils and some local minerals. There are numerous fossils in the area as a result of the Klutlan and other glaciers within the Wrangell-St.Elias mountains that melt into the head of the White River.

Activities Nearby

Once you venture off the main Highway there are many activities available in this beautiful corner of Northern Canada. At Discovery Yukon Lodgings we are surrounded by a variety of differing landscapes, including mountains, boreal tundra, sub alpine rivers, lakes and glaciers. These diverse landscapes lend themselves to activities such as hiking, canoeing, mountain biking, bird watching, wildlife spotting, fishing, rock hounding, nature walks and aerial tours.

We invite you to come and stay with us, where you can join one of our guided tours, or simply relax and enjoy what nature has to offer.

COMMUNAL FIRE PIT
All guests are welcome to join us around the nightly communal fire pit. It is during these gatherings that we are happy to share with you information regarding the location, the simple lifestyle we follow, food we gather from the land, the diverse range of flora and fauna, the history, traditional crafts and the stories of the region. We also encourage our guests to share their own adventures and stories with us. A relaxing way to ’while’ away the evening, meet new people and make new friends.

MILITARY VEHICLE COLLECTION
There is a graveyard of ex-military vehicles and equipment on the Discovery Yukon Lodgings property that was used in the building of the Alaskan Highway. The collection includes a restored 1942 Dodge WC62, which we use on special occasions.
Feel free to walk through the collection and take photos. Each piece of machinery has it’s own unique story and contributes to the fabric of this colorful Territory.

BOTANICAL AND VEGETABLE GARDENS
We encourage our visitors to raise their own fruit and vegetables and reinforce our message of a healthy lifestyle, enhanced by living off the land. We grow our own vegetables in raised beds (an area of soil raised three feet above the surrounding soil, encased by rock) to counteract the permafrost.
