Our all-season vacation rental is the perfect place to relax, refresh, reconnect, and refocus with the important people in your life. And with three separate but adjoining cottages, the Aisling Lakehouse has room for everyone.
It’s rare to find waterfront vacation property that can accommodate up to 24 people comfortably—especially one that is as private and as authentically Canadian as ours. It’s rarer yet to find Muskoka cottages for rent that offer guests the option of retreating into their own quiet space while still staying together as a group.
Our 3-in-1 waterfront cottage is made up three inter-connected but self-contained private units: the Family Cottage, the Knotty Pine Cabin, and the Honeymoon Chalet. Each unit contains a fully-stocked kitchen, living room, dining area—as well as a bathroom and bedroom(s) complete with linens. All units share porch and deck space and can also open to adjoining units to allow guests free and easy access among living spaces.
A Vacation Rental By Owner With a True Muskoka Flair
This vacation rental property offers true Ontario cottage living within a world that is wholly Muskoka.
The lakehouse was originally built by a Canadian trapper and his son who wanted to soak up everything nature has to offer. It is perched on a hill overlooking the private Aikman Lake and backs onto thousands of acres of uninhabited Crown territory. Trees , boulders, and wildlife are everywhere. Unless you turn up the music or pull out the ukulele, the only things you’ll hear are brought to you from nature.
When you step inside the cottage you see that the natural woodlands have made their way inside. Stair cases, bed frames, stone work and other unique accents adorn each living space. They have been handcrafted by local artisans using natural materials taken right from the property grounds. Each piece with its own story.
Even with these natural elements it still offers that familiar airy Ontario lakehouse feel. This is pulled off in large part by the work of local Parry Sound artists whose work is strewn throughout.
Of course, the canoes, hot tub, fire pit and the other extra recreational amenities we offer add to this effect.
All of these things work together to make this vacation rental by owner feel more like that Muskoka family cottage you’ve always had—or have been dreaming of.
At least we hope it does. We want you to feel at home and to make the Lakehouse your own during your visit.

Interior

The Country Classic Suite is a great space for your group to gather together and enjoy a “traditional” cottage night playing board games around the table or singing at the fireplace. This spacious cottage features a sunken living-room with a stunning fieldstone, gas fireplace. The kitchen/dining-room overlooks the living-room. There is a beautiful antique wood-burning cook stove that accents the kitchen (embrace your pioneer spirit and give it a try….it does have a conventional range and stove as well for those of you who are less trusting of your pioneer cooking skills).
Two bathrooms and two bedrooms are on the main level: one is a 2 piece powder room with Mexican ceramic tile flooring; the other is a 3 piece with a large glass-enclosed walk-in shower that is encompassed by Spanish limestone tile. The second storey has a large landing which has been turned into a semi private room with a queen bed. A large family suite features a 3 piece bathroom with a two-person Jacuzzi tub, 1 queen bed and 3 twin beds.
This unit has a main floor deck which faces the lake at the front and a screened-in porch with a deck that faces the rear of the property. It connects to the Honeymoon via a living room door, which can be locked off if you prefer, and connects to Knotty Pine Cottage through the shared laundry room just off the kitchen.

The Honeymoon Chalet is romantic and charming. It features a gas fireplace with a stunning, fieldstone backdrop from floor to lofted ceiling. The main-floor bathroom has an extra deep heart-shaped tub and a separate shower stall. The main floor bedroom has a double-single bunk bed. There is a gnarly limb banister going up to the master bedroom loft, which overlooks the fireplace in the living room. The master bedroom in the Honeymoon suite just might be our favourite! It’s high ceiling, great light and cozy sitting areas make you feel like you’re in paradise! There is an optional futon bed for extra sleeping space, as well as a cute kids nook with a twin bed tucked in it.
The front entrance to Honeymoon shares the luxurious 45 foot screened in porch with the Knotty pine suite…where your only decision will be whether or not to bring out a tea or coffee! A large deck off of the Honeymoon Cottage living-room faces the lake – great for viewing sunsets over Aikman Lake and for enjoying use of the BBQ, with propane provided. This is definitely a favourite spot for large groups-with 3 long tables set together so the whole group can be together! At night, ambient lighting ensures that the memory making doesn’t have to stop just because the sun has set.

The Knotty Pine Cottage has loads of rustic charm. The living-room/dining-room/kitchen are open-concept and feature a charming gas fireplace. 150 year old barn-board cabinets and trim adorn throughout this unit. Open the beautiful stained glass door to an adorable, clawfoot tub/shower in the main floor bathroom. A stunning, gnarly wood banister, collected from the woodlands around Aisling Lakehouse, leads to the upper level master bedroom. Adjacent to the master bedroom is a small room which is ideal for a nursery or a single person in the twin bed.
The front entrance has a gorgeous screened-in porch. You’ll enjoy relaxing on the porch swing, or reading books in the comfy couches and chairs beside the garden. Warning: Peaceful naps may result! The rear entrance, off of the parking lot, has a large deck and BBQ, with propane provided.

Exterior

An 80 acre, spring fed lake is home to several varieties of fish including wide mouth bass, perch and catfish. The lake connects to several other lakes-requiring a short walk or portage- to allow unlimited exploration. Surrounded by Crown Land, the undisturbed lakes and forests are home to wildlife such as bears, wolves, beavers, loons, ducks, turtles and more!
Get out on the lake and explore in the complimentary canoes, kayaks, or rowboat! Everything you need to enjoy the water is available for your use: paddles, numerous lifejackets in all sizes from infant to adult, boats, sand toys and more!

THE BEACH
A sandy beach, lakeside firepit, large sitting dock and an awesome floating dock…makes for ideal lakeside relaxation. The Sandy Beach ensures the kids (and adults!) can play in the sand all day! A gentle slope leads into a shallow playing area for kids that extends about 4-6 feet from the shore, depending on the water height and time of year. It is actually a large granite outcropping that is covered in sand that little ones will love to stand on and play on. After this the lake drops off to 3-5 feet deep, making it great for swimming. The bottom of the lake is “soft-bottom”…aka bring your water shoes….or better yet enjoy the clean, pure water while you swim out to the floating dock and go for an epic Muskoka Jump!
