This beautiful 3 bedroom cottage is located on the north shore of Otter (Tock) Lake, minutes from Dorset and 2.5 hour drive from the GTA. Sitting on a 3 acre lot of maple, birch, spruce, pine and hemlock trees, it boasts over 200 ft of sandy shoreline with shallow water ideal for children, gently sloping to a swimming raft surrounded in 10 ft of clear water.

Interior

Vaulted ceilings, open concept, sunken living room with abundant seating and a southern exposed walkout from the patio doors to the spacious outdoor deck with propane barbecue and 6 place outdoor dining set. Recently renovated kitchen with wine fridge, microwave, dishwasher and all the basic large appliances. Dining area seats up to 10 people. 3 bedrooms that comfortably accommodates 9 people. 2 bathrooms - a 2 piece and a 3 piece tub-shower. Laundry room with washer, dryer and wash tub. Hall closet for coats, hats and gloves with cleaning supplies, brooms, etc. Crawlspace underneath cottage contains canoe and kayak paddles, beach toys, deck chairs and loungers as well as various other outdoor accoutrements.

Exterior

The cottage sits on 3 acres of maple, birch and evergreen trees which surrounds various open grassy fields. Over 200 ft of sandy shoreline with 20 ft of shallow water from the beach (ideal for children), gradually slopes to 10 ft of clear water below the 10'x10' swimming raft. 24'x12' dock just steps from the the back deck and great for catching some rays on the loungers provided with 2 canoes and 2 kayaks nearby for early morning paddles on the pristine glassy surface of Otter Lake. A horseshoe pit runs parallel to the beach west of the creek. The large fire pit with wood supply that sits behind the horseshoe area, inspires group social activity at the end of a relaxing day. The pathway lights leading to the fire pit from the cottage reduces the need for flashlights. Please keep in mind that in normal conditions, daytime burning is prohibited in Algonquin Highlands and only allowed between 7pm-7am. During dry conditions, there may be a total fire ban in the area. Consult the 'fire-warning' sign on the main road and the Algonquin Highlands website which is updated regularly. Ample parking is located off of the front driveway, with a stocked woodshed nearby. A charming privy with dutch-doors for that 'back-to-nature' experience is located in the bush next to the driveway.

House Rules & Cancellations

A $500 booking/security cheque is required to reserve your week. This is a separate amount from the weekly rate. It serves to hold your reservation as well as provide insurance regarding potentially excessive damages upon a renter's departure and also a late cancellation fee (canceling less than 2 weeks prior to booking) and will NOT be cashed if said conditions are adhered to. No excessive noise is permitted as well as outdoor noise restrictions between the hours of 11pm-7am. Please leave the cottage interior and surrounding property neat and clean and in the same condition as when you arrived.
